The Product

  • What is SetUp?
  • SetUp is a smartphone stand designed to free up the user’s hands using standard credit and keytag sized cards. This patent pending accessory makes multi-tasking a bit more manageable.
  • On what type of phones will SetUp work?
  • SetUp is designed for all types of smartphones including Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia, LG, HTC, AT&T, Motorola, Samsung, T-Mobile.
  • What if I use a case on my smartphone?
  • SetUp can also be used on the back of smartphone cases.
  • What is included with each SetUp?
  • Each package comes with a SetUp, which is a thin plastic piece that can be affixed to the back of any smartphone; wallet-size card and keytag that is used to stand up the phone; a small alcohol swab to clean the surface of the phone or phone case before applying the plastic piece and an instruction booklet.
  • How is SetUp packaged?
  • SetUp Premiums are packaged in zip-locked bags. Retail SetUps are packaged to meet common display and security requirements.
  • How do my customers know what SetUp is and how to use it?
  • Every SetUp package comes with a cover insert that describes the product and the benefits it offers. Each package includes a booklet with step-by-step instructions for assembly and use.
  • How does SetUp stick on phones or phone cases?
  • SetUp uses a specialty adhesive manufactured by 3M. The SetUp package includes an alcohol swab to clean the phone or case. The user then removes the adhesive cover on back side of the SetUp plastic piece, sticks it on the phone or case and applies pressure to secure it in place.
  • Can the SetUp be removed?
  • Yes. Insert the keytag card into one of the SetUp slots. Apply pressure to gently move it back and forth until it becomes free.
  • How do the cards attach to the SetUp?
  • All 4 sides of the SetUp piece have slots that will snuggly hold the supplied wallet-size card and keytag. Simply slide either card in any slot to stand up the phone, vertically or horizontally, at variety of angles. The cards can be easily removed from the SetUp at any time.

  • The SetUp package offers the opportunity for personal and effective communications.
    1. The graphic on the SetUp piece that adheres to the phone is always visible.
    2. The surface of the wallet-size card promotes specific needs: product introduction, branding, events, calendars, local addresses and more.
    3. The keytag keeps you seen and at hand all day.
    4. The optional Media Solution offers you a private direct-to-customer channel to send news, offers, videos, surveys and much more. These media messages are viewed on your customers’ smartphones and direct them to your website for additional information.

  • If you want to explore creating a comprehensive marketing solution, SetUp has partnered with Creative Communications, a highly experienced marketing and advertising service provider (team’s background). They specialize in building initiatives that combine the innovative use of Quick Response (QR) capabilities, the rapid growth of the Smartphone market and SetUp’s unique appeal.   • How can I get a feeling for what my brand will look like on SetUp?
  • Contact a sales person to provide artwork of your logo and sample graphics you would like to see on a SetUp card, we will create a visual mock-up for you to review.
  • What kind of designs can be put on the SetUp?
  • The surface areas on all 3 pieces can be used for message delivery: a logo or slogan easily fits on the SetUp itself, and both sizes of cards allow for the delivery of a variety of messages tied to the premium's objective. This can include branding, campaign messages, events, product introductions, local addresses, and of course Quick Response (QR) codes.

     

    For example, one side of the card can support your brand and the other side can be printed with local store or office addresses. Printing is available in 4 color and allows for bleeds. Please supply only high resolution (minimum 300dpi) artwork to ensure quality imaging.

  • Who creates the designs and artwork?
  • The customer is entirely responsible for creating their designs and providing all artwork. SetUp provides specifications with dimensions and artwork requirements. If all artwork is provided to specifications, there is no additional charge for productions setup. Any requests for our staff to make alterations to original files will incur an extra charge.
  • How do I submit artwork?
  • Your sales person will provide all details for sending artwork either on CR-ROM or DVD, via email or by a FTP site.
  • Can I see a proof before printing?
  • Yes. We email electronic PDF proofs within 48 hours of receiving artwork. Your approval is required before we begin manufacturing.
  • How does the order process work?
  • Our team will explore with you how to best use SetUp for your needs. Your sales person will then email a quote with prices and terms. Upon receiving your purchase order, we will email a sales confirmation. All orders are shipped FOB manufacturing plant. Customers provide shipping specifications with their order. Orders can be shipped to multiple addresses. Orders are shipped via standard ground unless customer requests faster delivery.
  • What are the payment terms?
  • As all orders are custom, we require one-third payment prior to manufacturing. The balance is due 30 days from shipment.
  • How long does it take to receive an order?
  • Pre-orders placed during January 2011 will start to ship in early February in the order that they were received. After this, orders leave our manufacturing plant within 14 business days after final approval of proofs.

Media Solution

  • What is the Media Solution?
  • SetUp’s Media Solution is an option that can be added to the basic SetUp package. It provides an avenue for strategically connecting and interacting. It serves as a gateway to your company using QR codes printed on the SetUp cards. This facilitates direct-to-consumer communications ranging from simply directing people to your website to a wide variety of marketing opportunities such as branding, news feeds, exclusive offers, videos, events, surveys, contests, location maps and much more.
  • What are QR codes and how are they used?
  • QR, quick response, codes are 2 dimensional bar codes that can be optimized for a wide range of marketing initiatives. Smartphone users open a scan application on their phone, hold their phone camera over the code and are quickly linked to sponsor’s message viewable directly on their phone screens. Each app works slightly different – some requiring the user to click to continue.
  • What if I already use QR codes and have my own media platform?
  • Simply incorporate your codes into the designs you provide when buying our Basic SetUp package. They will be printed on the cards and there is no extra cost.
  • How do users find and download applications to scan codes?
  • A wide variety of scanning apps are now available. Most new smartphones come with an app already installed. Or, the user can search in the app store on their phone to download one. SetUp provides instructions for finding and downloading apps with the package. The instructions include recommended apps that can be downloaded from web sites accesses on the phone.
  • Who assigns the codes and determines how many to use?
  • SetUp’s marketing/media team works with each customer to understand their objectives and target audience who will be receiving SetUps (i.e. customers, employees, managers, donors, etc.). Together, we explore options to segment the audience target messages.
    For example, a retailer may want to segment offers by markets – each market would have a different code, which will be printed on the SetUp cards distributed by stores in each market. The retailer can then present one offer across all markets or create different offers for any market.
  • How are the codes created?
  • Our media team generates the unique codes required for each project. These are produced in high resolution. We send the codes to you so they can be incorporated into your card designs for printing.
  • Can the codes be used on other marketing materials?
  • Yes, you can apply the codes on any materials and in communications. People who scan them will see the same message as if they scanned it on the cards.
  • What is seen on the smartphone once a code is scanned?
  • Upon scanning your codes, people are quickly linked to the smartphone gateway we create for you. The gateway includes three branded screens. Your people will arrive at a landing page with your logo, which quickly turns to a page with your detailed information and headlines for special content. Users can then click on the headlines to view more detail. If they click further, they are directed to the specific pages on your website.
  • How much time and work is required to create the smartphone screens?
  • After our media team helps you determine the codes you need, they will also explore how to best use the smartphone screens for your situation. They will then request artwork and information to create screen designs. After your review, they will create final designs and request any specifics that may be needed including links to page on your website. We do the work for you. No technical integration is required.
  • How often can I change the content seen by users?
  • You can keep it simple and always let people click through to your website or update new, offers, etc. daily. You simply send us the update content along with the dates you want them to be seen and we make the changes. The primary consideration is balancing your objectives with the time requirements to make changes. The media price includes three changes a month per code. A nominal fee for additional changes will be determined once we understand your requirements.
